Summer minischool on basic of clinical pharmacy care (clinical camp)

  • Main aim to refresh knowledge and skills in revision of pharmacotherapy to understand role of clinical pharmacists, to test required knowledge and skills in identification of drug related problems and in maximization of effect and minimization of risk.

  • Conditions: a student with a succesful completition of pharmacology

  • Number of places: max 15


The Czech Academy of Sciences - Institute of Analytical Chemistry, Brno - Institute of Organic Chemistry, Prague - Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Prague

Students work in laboratory with scientists of the Czech Academy of Science. They may be part of research project. It is required to be prepared for the work. However scientists are willing to help and explain all details. Students usually stay for 4-6 hours and they get deep into given topic.

Students get insight of all departments. Pharmacists also explain Czech National Health System and structure of clinical and hospital pharmacy in our country. Students usually stay 3 to 4 hours.

Industry :


Renowned manufacturer of drugs, healthcare products, food complements and herbal cosmetics, widely utilizing authentic natural products. Length of daily internship is 4 hours.

Community pharmacy : Czech Republic offers more than 20 placements in community pharmacy. It varies from small private pharmacies to bigger chain pharmacies in Prague and Brno. Students learn how to prepare suppositories or capsules. Pharmacists explain Czech system and structure in community pharmacy and other national specifics.

Length of training periods

From 2 to 5 weeks,upon the request, or field of internship.

Available months and cities

Internships will take place in Prague (capital of Czech Republic) and Brno (second largest city) and Hradec Králové between 1st of August and 28th of August 2023.

Type accommodation

Students are placed in student dormitories. Rooms are single or double bed, equipped with fridge wardrobe and private bathroom. Wi-Fi is available. Kitchen is shared for each floor, equipped with cooker, microwave oven and kettle. Dishes and pots are not available. There is 24 hours reception, where students can borrow iron, hairdryer and other things needed. Dormitory provides laundry. Nearby is shopping mall, post office and ATM. Bus to the city centre takes 16 minutes. Price is 230-400 CZK in Prague, 150 CZK in Brno, depends on length of stay. Deposit, 4000 CZK, is required, but it is given back when check out. Dormitory in Brno doesn’t required deposit.

Board, pocket money or other financial benefits/remuneration

Unfortunately, we do not provide pocket money or other remuneration for students during their stay. In the Czech Republic people commonly cook meals at home. So shopping at grocer’s and cooking at home is cheaper than eating out :) On the other hand many restaurant and student cafeterias offer very good meal for reasonable price. One of the most famous fact about our country is that beer is cheaper than mireal water in a restaurant! Approximate prices: coffee, tea in a café: 40-50 CZK baked goods, pastry cakes: 7-30 CZK Beer(0,5l): 25-40 CZK Wine (2dcl): 30-50 CZK meal in a restaurant: 80-300 CZK soup in a restaurant: 25-40 CZK

Language requirements

English. Czech language skill is welcomed but not necessary :)

Documents required: Health certificate (we do have a template) Copy of vaccination Travel insurance Waiver of Liability (+COVID-19 Annex)

Sometimes required (hospital/ research/industry): Insurance for damage of property Insurance of Liability HIV/ HPV/ TBC negative test

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS: The student is required to sign a COVID-19 ANNEX to the Waiver Of Liability to be able to make SEP in Czechia.
