SEP in Zagreb (2017): - Exact dates will be filled

SEP in Split (2017): - Exact dates will be filled

Winter SEP in Croatia - we will be accepting students in March for 3 weeks to do SEP in Zagreb. We can offer only placements in community pharmacy in this period. The deadline for applying is December 10th, 2018

Type accommodation

Students will be placed in a student dormitory in Zagreb. Usually, accommodation was mostly covered by the association, but we are still waiting to see how much money we will receive from sponsors. You will have to pay at least around 50€.

If there is no possiblity of student dormitory placements, all students will be placed in private apartment or in hostel and expenses would be probably higher then the amount students are usually paying.

If the students want to pay for their own accomodation, we can help them find the best place.

In Split, students will be placed in a private apartment or a hostel. We will try to find you the cheapest possible accommodation.

Board, pocket money or other financial benefits/remuneration

No pocket money is provided.

Exchange students will be provided with a student card for student price meals (around 2€ for a full meal with a drink included). There are several student restaurants in Zagreb, and you can also use those cards while traveling to other University cities (Split, Rijeka, Osijek, Zadar etc.)

Upon arrival, students will also get a SIM card with a Croatian number and cheaper (price for students) tickets for public transportation (100kn monthly ticket – around 15 Euros). To issue a public transportation card, you need to bring proof from the Faculty that you are a student and a small photo (3,5x3cm). We will help you to make a transport card when you arrive in Croatia.

Language requirements

The students should be able to speak good English.

Majority of people in Croatia can speak English: most of the students and young people in Croatia speak English very well, and others should be able to at least understand you. We are requiring hosts to be able to speak English, so that you can easily communicate during your practice.

Other requirements

For any type of placement, you will need to bring your own lab coat.

If you are placed in a community pharmacy, you will maybe have to bring clogs, but we will let you know if your host requiers it.

If you are placed in hospital, you will have to bring sanitary certification.

Information on Work Permits and Visa

Croatia is a member country of European Union, so most of students do not need Visa documents. However, if Visa documents are needed, SEO should be informed in time to arrange everything needed. If it is necessary, we will provide the invitation letter. You can check all the information here: http://www.mvep.hr/en/consular-information/visas/visa-requirements-overview/

If you are from one of the countries that needs a Visa, please check how long the process of your application is and apply for a Visa as soon as possible. We recommend that you apply for a Visa AT LEAST 3 MONTHS before your SEP practice so that we can arrange everything and solve any problems if they arise. If your Visa application requires you to write your accommodation, please contact us as early as possible (or AT LEAST 3 MONTHS before your SEP practice) so that we can arrange the accommodation and get your confirmation letter for it.

We urge you not to wait long with your application and with contacting the SEO about it because it takes some time to get a Visa. We need time to prepare anything, and if some problems arise, it is better to have more time to solve them or for students to apply again if necessary.

Work permit is not needed.

Selection Procedures

Selection of the exchange students is made by SEO and the host. There is no deadline.
