PEN 10: Call For Submissions

19.01.2020

Pharmacy Educational Newsletter (PEN) is an educational/scientific newsletter of the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) that is released quarterly to aid pharmacy students in acquiring knowledge about pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences education and practices so they can pursue their career with more knowledge about their choices. It provides perspectives on relevant student issues and keeps students updated on the projects and initiatives of the Pharmacy Education Portfolio.

We kindly invite students, recent graduates, academic staff members and professionals to contribute their articles to this year’s publication. Please consider contributing an article on one of the following topics:

IPSF Member Experiences - Student Exchange/Mission Work/Internships/Conferences/Experiential Insights

Write about your experiences with Student Exchange (SEP) as either a participant or host. Alternatively, share your experiences with mission work or community work in another country. Members can also provide a discussion on conference or meeting attendance that have impacted them professionally.

World Health Organization: Sustainable Development Goals and Public Health

Share your insights or provide commentary on the WHO’s Sustainable Development Goals and how they impact the practice of pharmacy in your country. Learn more about the SDGs here

Goal #3: Good Health and Well-Being

Goal #4: Quality Education

 Stories from Practice

Share stories about caring for patients and how they have impacted your growth as a pharmacy student or a professional. Alternatively, discuss how pharmacists can enhance and contribute to patient care and safety.

Association/Organisation Events: Promoting Pharmacy Advocacy and Education

Share with our fellow IPSF members successful events that have promoted education and advocacy within the pharmacy profession. Topics can include impact of the event(s) on pharmacy students and recent graduates, strategies for planning successful events, or unique/innovative suggestions for new events and/or projects.

Nanjing Statements

Describe how these statements will impact pharmacy practice or how they resonate with you as a healthcare professional. Alternatively, highlight organisations that are already implementing and practising goals of the statements, or address challenges that may affect the implementation of these statements in your specific region.

Background of the Nanjing Statements: In 2016, the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) organised the Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education in Nanjing, China. Three documents were released describing the future of the pharmaceutical profession. For further reading, click here.

Discussion Section

To promote discussion amongst our readers, we invite you to provide comments on any of the articles from previous publications. They will be included in a discussion section in the publication.
