Universal Health Coverage 2030

12.12.2018

Universal Health Coverage is a commitment to ensure that all people and communities have access to quality health services, and are protected from financial hardships when paying for them. However, according to the “Tracking Universal Health Coverage: 2017 Global Monitoring Report”, at least 50% of the world’s population still lack access to essential health services, putting vulnerable populations at risk.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (Director-General WHO) once said: “Health is a human right. No one should get sick and die just because they are poor or because they cannot access the health services they need.”

With the involvement of pharmacists to ensure availability of quality medicines and effective systems of medicines optimization, Universal Health Coverage can be made possible by year 2030. Therefore, IPSF is calling on the youth of today, pharmacists of tomorrow to join in this momentum and acknowledge the importance of staying professional and competent in this field.

Through professional and public health awareness, IPSF has put valuable effort in addressing the issue of universal health coverage and this collaboration will definitely be a stepping stone for IPSF to advance HealthForAll.

One cannot do everything, but still one can do something. Together, we make change! Together, we progress towards a world protected from health threats!
